Ashtyn N. Saltz focuses his practice at Kaufman & Company in a variety of areas of complex commercial litigation including contractual disputes, business torts, intellectual property, and employment matters. Ashtyn joined Kaufman & Company as a law clerk during the summer following his second year of law school. Prior to joining Kaufman & Company, he clerked for the Civil Division of the City of Cleveland’s Department of Law and for the United Nation’s Special Tribunal for Lebanon in The Hague, Netherlands.

Ashtyn N. Saltz focuses his practice at Kaufman & Company in a variety of areas of complex commercial litigation including contractual disputes, business torts, intellectual property, and employment matters. He has experience in various aspects of discovery, trial preparation, evidentiary and privilege issues, briefing, and motion practice.

While at Case Western Reserve University, he was a part of the Community Development Clinic where he provided transactional and corporate counsel legal services to community development corporations, other community and arts-based nonprofits, and entrepreneurs. During law school Ashtyn clerked for the Civil Division of the City of Cleveland’s Department of Law and for the United Nation’s Special Tribunal for Lebanon in The Hague, Netherlands where he gained experience in governmental and international law. Ashtyn’s experience includes representative matters as follows:

  • Part of litigation team that reached a favorable settlement in complex litigation involving damage to clients’ property from a landslide during a government sewer project on the clients’ property. The case involved numerous novel legal issues in the realms of eminent domain, government contracts, governmental tort liability, and negligence.
  • Part of litigation team that reached a favorable settlement in a complex commercial contract dispute involving the construction of a large, mixed-use real estate project.
  • Part of a litigation team that reached a favorable settlement in a complex patent and antitrust dispute involving industry leading international companies.
  • Part of team appealing a hospital disciplinary action in sexual harassment matter.
